Paramedic

Mr. Michael Arnold was appointed to the Board of Directors as secretary in the middle of 2012. Mr. Arnold started as a volunteer at Smithsburg EMS in September 2009. After obtaining EMT-B certification, Mr. Arnold became an active operational member, obtaining driver and provider-in-charge (PIC) capability within Smithsburg EMS. Mr. Arnold was hired as a part time EMT-B in April of 2012. He is currently attending Hagerstown Community College full time. Prior to his employment at Smithsburg EMS, Mr. Arnold was an active duty infantry Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Arnold left Sacramento, California in 2007, attended training in Camp Pendleton, CA and Norfolk, VA, and was stationed in Washington DC; Thurmont, Md; and Quantico, Va. In 2011 Mr. Arnold deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit as part of Operation Unified Protector and Operation Enduring Freedom. After returning from deployment in January of 2012, Mr. Arnold received an honorable discharge from the active forces. Mr. Arnold is unmarried and has no children. He currently resides in Hagerstown, MD with his wife, Jessica.
